Marin Banned Books Week Committee is a small group of Marin residents — readers, writers, teachers, booksellers, neighbors, activists — who are concerned about the shocking rise in book banning. The new administration is counting on us being too overwhelmed to fight for our intellectual freedom along with so much else. But just remember how you felt when you read 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 in high school. They were meant as warnings; we can’t let them turn into prophecies.
